I've never done this before, but this should be fun! I'm starting a blog so that I can keep family, friends and people we love up to date on our crazy hectic lives here in Detroit Michigan!
For those of you who don't know, Ben is a 3rd year orthopedic surgery resident at Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills, MI and is loving it. He graduated from LECOM medical school in Erie, PA in 2007 and we moved here. We have 3 more years to go and he'll be done!
I am an Executive Mortgage Banker with Quicken Loans and I help people in all 50 states purchase and refinance their homes. I love it and have learned a lot about this crazy economy and the housing market we're in.
Our boys are 10 (Sam) and 6 (Max) and are enjoying school, sports and their new friends here in Michigan. They've been moved around quite a bit, but are doing so great adjusting and their happy and positive attitudes make me grateful.

The day that Ben left, Max was having a hard time getting ready to go to school. He came into the kitchen and said he wanted to talk to me about 2 things. One he was not looking forward to and the other he was looking forward to. He says, "Mom, the first thing I'm not looking forward to is coming home today and Daddy isn't here to hug and kiss me. The thing I AM looking forward to is sleeping on his side of the bed!" Can it get any cuter people?
Last night Ben was so tired he fell asleep really early. He started talking in his sleep (which he never does!) and said the following things in no particular order..."Yoo Hoo! Yoo Hoo!", "I caught a fish, I caught a fish, I caught a fish!", "I'm being chased by someone that has a tumor! I'm running away!" It was hilarious and he laughed about it when he woke up this morning and I told him about it. He must have been so tired!
Per the request of aunt Katie, we had to post this (sad), but Farr funny...We got 2 hamsters for the boys. One's name was Peanut and the other white hamster was Pearl. One day we noticed they'd started to fight and Pearl (the female) began to bite at him. Now we don't know if it was because he was leaving his dirty socks by the bed or if he was just chasing after her for a little lovin', but she was ticked all the time. One day, we went to give them food and water and noticed Peanut limping and his fur was all bloody! Ben picked him up and Pearl had completely chewed off his foot! He only had a little stubby peg leg left and didn't seem to mind. We returned Pearl to the pet shop and left the injured hamster to recouperate. Fom that day forward he was known as "Capn' Jack"...
When Sam was a baby I gave him some lucky charms in a bowl. He ate all the marshmellows out of it and pushed it aside. I told him, "Sam, eat your lucky charms!" He pouted and said, "They're not lucky charms, they're Yucky Charms!"...I don't think I've ever laughed so hard!
One night for dinner I made chicken, mashed potatoes and carrots and gave them to Sam for dinner. He was about 2 years old. I asked him to bless the food and this is what he said, "Dear Heavenly Father...I don't like this food. I'm not gonna eat it. It's yucky, and I'm going to bed. Amen.".... priceless!
